On October 25th and 26th, MSSC will stage the 52nd Little America’s Cup (LAC) Regatta. This was the first regatta ever held in the United States using the locally developed, then adopted by DIYRA and finally by the U. S. Sailing’s Portsmouth Yardstick. Robert Kibby, then commodore, donated the trophy. The first regatta in 1962, was held off the mouth of Shoals Creek and was won by Floyd Davis in a Windmill.
Over the years. the trophy has been won by large cruisers (30 feet) and small boats (12 feet) and many in between different boats.
